LITRAK recently launched the enhanced version of the Frequent Travellers Programme (FTP) for ETC users using their Lebuhraya Damansara ¨C Puchong (LDP) in a simple ceremony at the Petaling Jaya Selatan Toll Plaza, replacing the old FTP programme which expired in December 2010.
Present as the guest of honour to officiate at the launch was Malaysian Highway Authority Director General, Dato’ Ir Hj. Ismail bin Md Salleh.

This newest offer to benefit ETC users will only require users to perform 100 transactions (or equivalent to RM160 usage), compared to the previous one where users were required to perform 125 transactions (or currently equivalent to RM200 usage) to be rewarded the same 20% reload value.

“I am happy to see that in line with Government’s effort to promote electronic cash payment, LITRAK has continued to come forward and offer better benefits to their Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) users. The enhanced programme will continue to give LDP ETC users the same 20% reload value but for a usage of 20% less now”, Dato’ Ir. Hj. Ismail Md. Salleh said.

He also added that combining the existing 20% free reload value being offered by the Government and the 20% free reload being offered by LITRAK, LDP ETC users will now enjoy a total of 40% free reload.

“So, effectively, the frequent ETC users of Class 1 Vehicle on LDP are only paying for 60% or 96 cents of the current toll fare on LDP which is RM1.60 (discount of 64 cents) and this is a huge saving for the average wage earners”, he said.

Present at the launch was LITRAK Group Chief Executive Officer, Sazally Saidi who further clarified that the enhanced version of the FTP will require no registration as all ETC users will automatically qualify. However, they can still register through the Touch ‘n Go portal if they want to monitor their transactions.

“Our main target is to continue promoting electronic payment and increase the ETC penetration, apart from easing the financial burden of the middle class wage earners”, he added.

The enhanced FTP will be effective January to December 2011, after which a further review of the programme will be done.
