From the invitations to goodie bags, LITRAK felt that the best way to enhance the event is to tie it all together with a central theme called 'Nostalgia Lebaran, Kenangan 50an & 60an' in conjunction with the 55th National Day. This year around, all staffs were also dressed in costume form the decades of our nation's independence, past fads and fashions. Date:15/08/2012

The first event for the day was the presentation of Merdeka Trivia flyers, launching of DeCARE Challenge in conjunction with LITRAK Group Road Safety Campaign and presentation of 'Duit Raya' to the children of Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih which was officiated by Director General of Malaysian Highway Authority Dato' Ir Hj Ismail Md Salleh at the event.

'Merdeka Trivia' portrays the important role played by Tunku Abdul Rahman as the independence fighter. A total number of 30,000 flyers will be distributed to approximately 30 schools along the alignment of Lebuhraya-Damansara Puchong and SPRINT Highway. This segment is specifically designed in remembrance of the 55th National Day for this year.

SHOPPING SPREE - LITRAK GROUP

Date:09/08/2012

AS always, LITRAK Group will have a line up of special events in view of the approaching Hari Raya Aidilfitri. And again, the must-not-miss shopping spree event for this year around has now come to benefit for the needy and the underprivileged.

The interesting fact about this event is that it has been conducted for 4 consecutive years for various orphanages especially in Klang Valley. Selected Home will be treated to a day of shopping for the Raya festival. This year, LITRAK Group has again organised a shopping spree for 55 children aged 6 to 12 years old of Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih from Kg Sg Penchala.

The main reason of why the Home being selected again as the beneficiary (the same Home was chosen in 2009) is purely because of its building which home to about 30 male students was recently caught fire (on 29th June 2012) and caused the whole part of the building to collapse and completely burnt. The Home now has to place the male students in a temporary small room in another building where it's difficult to breathe a clean air as the room is obviously not comfortable and suitable for a healthy environment.

Sazally Saidi, Chief Executive Officer of LITRAK Group commented that this is part of LITRAK Group's corporate social responsibility, which they do regularly for the past 4 years. "Hari Raya shopping spree serves as an effort to make sure the underprivileged are looking forward to celebrating the festival. We've had a fun time adding everything up and making sure the children from Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih got everything they need. Not just that, this year around, we are allocating RM150 for each child. It is important for me not just as a CEO but as a person to ensure that they are able to celebrate with some more joy and anticipation of a good day because they have the beautiful clothes like the other kids out there. I sincerely hope that it would help to lighten their burden," he said.

Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih is a non-profit organisation which was set up in 2007 and is a privately run charity home.

LITRAK GROUP AND PERBADANAN PUTRAJAYA ORGANISED AN OUTDOOR ROAD SAFETY PROGRAMME FOR SK SRI HARTAMAS, SK BUKIT LANJAN AND SK BANDAR SRI DAMANSARA (1)

Date:19/04/2012

'SUMMON'. They will be fined if rules are disobeyed

CAREFUL PEDESTRIANS. 'Zebra-crossing' should be respected at all times by all motorists

LINGKARAN Trans Kota Sdn Bhd (LITRAK), the highway concessionaire for Lebuhraya Damansara - Puchong (LDP) and SPRINT, the highway concessionaire for
SPRINT Highway in collaboration with Perbadanan Putrajaya, organized a Road Safety Programme to some 150 students of SK Sri Hartamas, SK Bukit Lanjan and SK Bandar Sri Damansara (1) recently as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

Almost a year ago, LITRAK Group was also involved in a similar road safety program in collaboration with the Perbadanan Putrajaya. At that time, the program called 'Xplorasi DeCARE' was held indoor while this year's program, known as 'Smart DeCARE' is believed to be more challenging and provide more positive awareness to students. Moreover, the 'Smart DeCARE' is conducted on a very wide circuit, completed with all the traffic signage, or particularly like a road that is filled with all types of vehicles. The circuit is built by Perbadanan Putrajaya, which is aimed to raise the community awareness on road safety, not only in Putrajaya, but across the country.

CORRECT TECHNIQUE. Students were shown the correct way to wear a helmet when cycling

All students who attended were fully sponsored where LITRAK Group first brought them with three buses to attend the program at 'DeCARE Park' in Presint 7, Putrajaya. Many of them felt that it is a kind of 'must-not-miss' event as the 'Smart DeCARE' is a program that is totally different than others. They were given a short briefing before each of them were given the opportunity to try various types of light vehicles such as go-kart, electric bicycle, motorcycle and given the task of acting like a pedestrian and as a police officer who issues a summon! They were also taught the right way of wearing a helmet and safety belt together with the correct technique of road crossing, especially when it comes to approaching traffic lights at the junction.

NEW EXPERIENCE. Students taking part in the road safety programme pose for a group photo with staff of LITRAK Group and Perbadanan Putrajaya at the event

LITRAK's Chief Executive Officer, En Sazally Saidi commented that the program was part of the company's continuous aspiration to achieve the highest level of road safety awareness for the students to apply the road safety skills especially for those schools along the highway. ' I must again not forget to express my highest appreciation to Perbadanan Putrajaya for allowing us to experience the newly traffic circuit. The students whom we invited will surely feel proud for being among the first who get the chance to feel the amazing exposure. Thumbs up to Smart DeCARE', he said.

ROAD SAFETY TALK

Date:24/06/2010

JOYOUS OCCASION: Students and teachers from SMK Bandar Kinrara pose for a group photo with LITRAK staff and Perfect Driving Academy trainers

ROAD traffic injuries constitute major problems in Malaysia and road accidents are major cause of death. There is an urgent need to address drivers and road users* behaviour  and attitude and what better place to start this than in schools.

Education is the foundation, platform and catalyst that support all programmes to bring the desired changes in road safety behaviour.

Having this in mind, Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd, the concessionaire for Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong , yet again, organized a Road Safety Programme for some 40 students from SMK Bandar Kinrara 4, Puchong. The event was held at Perfect Drive School Academy located in Puchong Prima in a collaborative effort.

The key objective of road safety education is to make drivers and other road users risk-averse and to equip them with appropriate knowledge and skills. The man who stole the show at the half-day event was none other than Francis Arokiam, the speaker who gave a splendid presentation on safety driving and riding tips during the programme.

Having been a driving instructor for 27 yeas and now a trainer, Arokiam kept the students engrossed during the hour-long talk, laced with fun and laughter.

"Road users should be trained to self-regulate their behaviours based on inherent risks in the road and traffic environment" and this was the message Arokiam repeatedly drummed into the 16-year olds.

Road Safety Talk At Western Digital (M) Sdn Bhd In Collaboration With Royal Malaysian Police

Date:17/02/2009

How many of us as pedestrians know that we have the right of way over vehicles on footpaths. Pedestrians also have priority over vehicles when vehicles are entering or exiting a driveway that crosses a footpath.

However, the decision about whether a situation is a driveway or an intersection is not always clear. In practice, if the entrance to the driveway looks like a road and not a continuation of the footpath, it should be treated as though you are crossing a road and pedestrians must give way to vehicles.

These are some of the finer details on road safety for pedestrians which the police shared with some 100 staff of Western Digital during the Road Safety Talk organized by Litrak Group.

The event, in collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police was part of an on-going Road Safety Campaign planned and implemented by Litrak.

Litrak head of communications explained that the company organized various road safety events monthly at school, factories and companies along the LDP alignment.

※ Road safety is a chief concern of ours and is part of our on-going CSR programme and for this month we thought Western Digital would be our venue for the talk considering the huge number of workers who use our highway as pedestrians,§ Bhavani said.

Pedestrians and other road users alike must first take responsibility for their own road safety for with awareness comes the need to adopt road safety measures. ※Pedestrians are in the best position to ensure their safety when interacting with motor vehicles. It's not a matter of being right; you can be dead and still be right§ , and this is the moral of the story during the talk.

Also present at the event was Litrak Group Traffic & Safety head of department Nor Azman Ishak.
