LDP 5 Project - Highway Enhancement
LDP completes the Western Link of the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) when the highway was opened in January 1999. It forms a crucial link in the north-south direction from Kepong to Putrajaya adjoining to 8 East-West links.
LDP has spur development growth in Mutiara Damansara, Damansara, Kelana Jaya, Sunway and opened to new development corridors at the Damansara and Puchong especially.
Being pro-active in addressing congestion problems arise as a result of rapid development and growing traffic, in 2004 Litrak has embarked on a 174 mil project called 6 Interchanges Project (LDP 3) to build new and to upgrade the existing interchanges due to growing number of traffic on LDP and spent another RM133 mil in 2008 to upgrade the existing Taman Tun Dr Ismail Interchange.
In the coming years, LITRAK expected continues rapid development on the northern and southern part of LDP, thus in May 2009, Litrak went on board with RM300 mil highway expansion plan (LDP 5) to mitigate congestion at six critical hotspots at;
- Persiaran Surian into LDP
- Damansara Utama Interchange to SS2 Interchange
- Puchong Jaya Interchange
- Puchong Intan Interchange
- Puchong Perdana Intechange
- Puchong Perdana Interchange to Kg. Bharu Puchong Interchange
